Platinum Supplemental Insurance, a provider of cost-effective, benefit-rich supplemental insurance policies that bring security to rural customers throughout the American Midwest, decided to try Appcast Premium, Appcast’s enterprise programmatic managed service.
Seven years ago, Platinum started using Appcast’s Xcelerate product to support their goal of adding sales staff in rural markets and did so at a 25% reduction in cost per hire compared to other sources. It has been an ongoing challenge for Platinum to reach candidates in new regions of the country, particularly in rural areas. This is compounded by the fact that entry-level insurance sales roles are evergreen – Platinum always needs incoming qualified talent.
By moving to Appcast’s Premium product, Platinum consolidated and optimized its other job advertising sources into one dashboard, all managed by Appcast’s team of advertising experts.
“Appcast Premium helps by having fewer relationships to manage, providing a user interface that is easy to use, and aggregates all data into one source,” said Matt Mackenzie, Internet Marketing Specialist at Platinum.
The results, after only a few months, confirmed that upgrading to Premium was the right decision by showing a 35% increase in candidates hired that were sourced from Appcast.
In the first quarter of 2021, recruiting efforts for all jobs at Platinum resulted in 264 hires; 203 were from Appcast, meaning that nearly 80% of all Platinum hires in Q1 were delivered via Premium.
What’s more, Appcast Premium, compared to their other sources, generated the highest percentage of candidates who:
- were deemed to be qualified and therefore contacted by the TA team;
- scheduled and watched company overviews (Platinum’s second step in recruiting);
- advanced to be interviewed;
- and were ultimately hired.
Appcast Premium delivered the highest volume of candidates and had the highest conversion rate compared to Platinum’s other job advertising sources.
“Appcast Xcelerate was always impactful for our TA efforts, and now, especially with Premium, we’ve rolled other candidate sources into your programmatic model. We’re getting that same great performance by advertising more of our jobs through Appcast Premium,” said Mackenzie.
As for the Appcast team, Mackenzie had nothing but positive feedback, citing how the team responds professionally to any volume challenges, and changes are made efficiently and quickly.
For him, this amounts to time savings. “I have fewer vendor relationships to manage now,” he said. “I know that I can just rely on the team at Appcast.”
Mackenzie also pointed out that Appcast’s technology makes a difference. “The user interface – what we see in terms of performance data and the way information is broken out – is definitely better than any other vendor I work with,” he said.
When asked how he would summarize the Premium experience, Mackenzie didn’t hesitate. “It’s just easy and it works really well. Premium works really, really well,” he said.
